PROGRAM OVERVIEW

 

Overview This qualification provides cross-industry competencies for experienced risk managers and covers risk management activities undertaken by senior personnel to develop innovative strategies for dealing with complex risk management issues. The program is aimed at managers and senior staff with significant operational experience and will equip you with the knowledge and skills to embed risk management into your organisation’s structures and programs using a consistent risk management process that creates cohesive and integrated risk management.

Duration 6 days, divided into 2 workshops

Prerequisites Basic understanding of risk management

 

Course Requirements Participants are required to complete all in-class activities as well as workplace assessment tasks to achieve this qualification.

 

Assessment encompasses group work conducted in class including presentations on researched topics and work-based tasks completed outside of the training workshops.

Presenters Richard Walker

 

Richard Walker is a Principal and senior faculty manager. He has 30 years’ industry experience encompassing senior risk, operations and compliance roles with several leading global institutions.

 

Richard has a detailed knowledge of financial mathematics, markets and products; the ability to differentiate the interests of stakeholders; and use of credit, cash flow, and financial ratio analysis to implement strategies.

 

More recently, Richard has written and delivered bespoke training for clients drawn from the corporate, government, and financial services sectors in Australia, South East Asia, and the Middle East resulting in rapid knowledge transfer. His areas of focus include: corporate credit risk, financial analysis, enterprise risk management, conduct risk and operational risk.

 

Drawing upon his deep and varied experience, Richard is able to offer insights into the relationship between different risk categories; the application of financial analysis to enhance decision making; demonstrate the applicability to the regulatory environment; and critically, relate these to the organisation’s strategic priorities.

Stuart Patch

 

Stuart is a Director and senior faculty member specialising in the areas of financial management, procurement, project management and risk management.

 

Stuart delivers training for leading organisations including the Australian Institute of Company Directors, CPA Australia, the University of Technology Sydney and the Australian Institute of Management. His delivery is greatly enriched by an extensive career working across the world as Finance Director for global listed companies operating in the power generation, construction, resources and transportation sectors.

 

Stuart has facilitated training, coached and mentored senior management and high potential employees within commercial firms, government and the not-for-profit sector. Stuart is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, holds a Diploma in Project Management and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
