CLOCS-A -VRU Gold Short Interactive Program
Those applying for GOLD accreditation will have completed the Bronze and Silver VRU training before proceeding to this VRU GOLD Program.
The VRU Gold program aims to provide your drivers the opportunity to understand the limitations to existing infrastructure and construction impacts on traffic and road environments in a practical real-life environment. Drivers will explore first-hand how it feels to be a vulnerable road user.
Follow the lessons provided, where you will be required to walk around, perform tasks, and take note of your observations.
Please ensure when using your iPad, Smartphone, tablet, writing equipment or other devices, you do so in a safe area and are not putting yourself at risk. Some sites have elevated observation areas. With the required permission you may be able to perform a site observation from this area if you are allowed access.
Instructions
This exercise is best done with a group of drivers and a supervisor. As a group you are asked talk through each lesson before deciding where and how you will be travelling to make observations. At the designated point discuss the quiz questions and then jot these responses in the quiz area of this course. It is always good to put your answers in as an individual considering the thoughts of others as well your own thoughts
Driver:
The set task and activities observed throughout each lesson and the noted observations are to be reviewed by the driver supervisor and discussed with the Driver. The quiz is completed by the driver using the notes from his observations on each scenario presented and entered into the relevant area of the questionnaire. Once successfully completed, the driver will be issued an e-Certificate which can be downloaded from the email and uploaded into the accreditation application system (refer Section 5.4.4 Driver Training and Competency of the Accreditation application).
Note: some lessons require you to walk around a construction site or a construction precinct. Please ensure you are wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when doing so in order to be visible to moving traffic, ensure your safety, ensure you are in safe zones, and you observe all safety signage and direction.
