Recognising potential common truck related Vulnerable Road User incidents
Those applying for Silver accreditation will have completed the Bronze training before proceeding to this VRU Silver Program.
The Silver CLOCS-A Standard training course addresses the challenges that construction truck drivers encounter with various road user groups. The aim is to reduce truck-related incidents involving Vulnerable Road Users (VRU).
While drivers often face poor behavior from other road users, each vulnerable road user group presents specific challenges for trucks traveling to and from construction sites.
The training and subsequent questions are tailored for construction truck drivers to recognise the particular issues they may encounter with different road user groups. The goal is to prompt reflection on past or potential incidents with each vulnerable road user group as explained in the lessons, with multiple options provided for each group.
Follow the lessons provided, where you will be required to walk around, make observations, and take note of these by using a notebook, smartphone, or tablet.
Please ensure when using your smartphone, tablet, writing equipment or other devices, you do so in a safe area and are not putting yourself at risk. Some sites have elevated observation areas. With the required permission you may be able to perform a site observation from this area if you are allowed access.
There is an online assessment after completing the program.
